Window frame corrosion

Looking for advice on how to tackle the corrosion on my boat's outer window frames which are anodised aluminium. These are attached by stainless steel screws passing through the perspex, grp and rubber from the inner frames into which the screw heads are countersunk. The screws have been treated with Duralac. The inner frames show no corrosion. The corrosion locations don't correspond to screw locations.

Our seven large window frames, plus a full hight door frame are powder coated as OE.

Powder coating and sea air are not easy bedfellows...............................

At least you save on wear and tear on the batteries when they glow in the dark...

I had similar problems on Jissel - 50 year old windows, whose anodising had long gone. I ended up dismantling them, grinding out the corrosion and filling the holes with plastic metal. I then gave them a couple of coats of high build primer, to get a good finish, followed with several coats of rattle tin spray paint in silver grey. They looked good, and were still going strong when I sold the boat a dozen years later.

However, if that photo's as bad as it gets, and the windows don't leak, I'd live with it. Windows can be problematic, so if it ain't broke...
