Does anyone know the best - most suitable - windlass for an LM 27. Vertical or horizontal and the feed into the chain locker?

I was just considering the opposite - whether, by not giving details in the title, one would get more people to read the post to find out what it is about and who are therefore more likely to reply?
Then again, it might encourage more off-topic responses such as this...

In the absence of any first hand experiences, work from first principles. The choice of type depends on the relative location of the roller, the entry to the locker and the space you have above and below decks. In some installations only one type will do (for example if there is no space below decks to take the motor of a vertical windlass). With regard to make, Lofrans, Quick and Lewmar are the market leaders. All of them provide technical information and installation advice to help you make your choice.
