Anchored today to make the most of the lovely weather but found that the anchor could not be recovered.
Initial investigation showed that the solenoid was clicking but nothing was happening!
By changing the feed to the motor it was possible to use the other solenoid which worked a treat and got us home after a grand day out….
Question, without seeing a picture of the said solenoid, where can I get a new one. It is sealed and although I suspect that it is nothing more than contacts I can’t fix it.
I have two, both of which have a screw going through the deck to foot switches to enable local operation of the windlass.
The boat is a Fairline Corniche of about 87 vintage.
The offending solenoid has only one marking, “CIMA”. I have done a search for this name but came up with nowt.
I can take a photo if required though that will take a bit longer to get sorted…..
Thanks in anticipation.
