I am unable to make the chain free by rotating the clutch nut anticlockwise. the clutch rotates for a while, but not enough to make the chain fully free. Any suggestions? What type of maintenance is required? Thanks

It sounds like your clutch is in need of grease to allow it freely rotate once the clutch nut is loosened. The clutch should be greased once a year. This is done by removing the clutch nut and removing the gypsy applying a marine grease to the friction surfaces before re assembling. It takes about5 minutes to complete
