I have an old manual windlass which was very tight to turn so stripped it down today, problem seems to be that all the nylon/plastic bushes are worn and scored allowing the planet gears to move about on their spindles.
Dont know what make it is, possibly an old laurence simpson.
Does anyone know if I will still get spares for it, and where?
or how much would I expect to pay for a good second hand one ( manual)?
Also where can I get bow rollers, the actual cylindrical roller itself, not a whole bow roller unit, as I am making my own side plates.
Thanks Eamonn.
