Winding up spammers, enjoyable half hour

have just checked my emails and the usual pile of crap was in there, any way one in particular pissed me off, you know the one, i can get emails to 10 billion people etc etc.
any way went and did a look up of the domain name and below is the result:

The go to the rest of the viagra sellers sites and ask to be taken off their listings (yeah right!!) and put in the pop@broadcastemailinc.com address.
now with a bit of luck the traffic to scumbag scammers domain will start to irritate their hosters, the neatest bit of course is to go to their site and ask to be taken off their list (ho ho ho) nice little loop, they put themselves on their own spamming list and then send their crap to themselves he he he!!

Well done. Keep up the good work.

My mailbox keeps filling up with "Delivery failure" messages from antispam filters in umpteem languages. Evidently some spammer has chose to use my email address as his "sender" address.

nothing you can do about it, other than to change to a new email domain and wait for it to happen again. It might cause your genuine email domain to be blacklisted by some isp or organisations.

i am a smartypants, i have my own domain and so regularly chop and change my email address, stu@llangollen.co.uk became a spam magnet so i put a forwarder on it to go to another contact spammer email address, so all the crap to stu@llangollen.co.uk now is forwarded to scumbags. i will at some point delete the email address to avoid my ISP having to deal with the traffic, but it is very satisfying toknow that i am gettin some small revenge!!

that doesn't really achieve much. It doesn't stop your domain being hijacked. It just shows the domain is still active, hence encouraging more email, putting more load on your ISP, and more likelyhood of your email domain being blacklisted.

As SPF records become more prevalent it will become harder to forge the headers in emails. See here. Microsoft also have an implementation.

it will certainly help when it becomes more widely adopted, though only for a while. New techniques will soon emerge, as they always have done.
