Thinking of fitting a windex to a 28 footer.Windex15? Can we buy to fit to existing aerial?

 

[Quandary]

You can modify a Windex to go over an existing VHF aerial but you have to drill out the diamond bearing and make up a substitute from the barrel of a biro pen or similar, it works fine if you do it carefully and make sure it is free with minimum friction. Or you can buy one from Salty John of this parish specifically designed to fit over the aerial. The only reason I modified mine was that I already had a spare one that had been supplied with the boat when new and was replacing my short lived Shakespeare/ V'tronix Hawk with one of Salty Johns excellent antenna. The Windex does seem to be better than the Hawk.

I find it difficult to do without one, fitted the smaller one, think it's 10", on mine. It's fine but rig is small...
