For anyone who wonders why we stay on the lake I thought I would share this with you, picture taken at 10-30pm on sun 8th Jun from Lakeside looking north.

Ta.......If anyones interested it was taken with a Canon IXUS 70 no filters or fancy settings that was exactly as it was at 10.30pm. A couple of hours before that we watched a couple of hot air baloons taking off from the lakeside about 200yds away. It was a really great night to stop out at anchor with a bottle of malt and a chocky bar............ Heaven.......... /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

It's the Virgin balloon trip outfit. They have a launch field near the YMCA on the Lakeside /Hawkshead Road.

They take off most nights at the moment (not tonight as it's raining) there's always a Virgin one and usually another. Some nights we wave at them, other nights we'll shout "Bugger off" as they skim over the garden.

Yes we saw the virgin one and it was a bookers mini one that took off from fell foot park. Got good pics of those too /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Unusual to have an Easterly so we don't get to see those from that side. Sure it wasn't one of the fields either side of Fellfoot? That is National Trust.
