Hi,

sorry for Windermere specific post, but was wondering if anyone knows the 'usual' depth down at Fell Foot on Windermere?

We would like to moor at the National Trust jetties there but we've got a draft of 1.55m and not sure we'll get on...

cheers,

Toby

We get in easily with our 3' draft Centaur. All I can suggest is that you try it going slow, you'll probably get in. The bottom is round boulders so I do mean slow.
We tried to go round and try again after having a look one time, if you do the same don't go South as you run out of water pretty quickly ;)

Hello,

I saw 1m on my depth sounder the last time i went, my boat draws a bit less than that and i was able to make it to the jetty ok.

Another boat, around 35feet tied to one of the mooring and then went ashore in the dinghy.

I used the boat hook to test the depth after and it seems deeper to me, but im not exactly sure.

Depth will depend on lake level, but I doubt you will get in with a 1.5m draft. We went in this time last year and managed to touch the bottom 3 or 4 times (We draw 1m). On the jetty we were just OK, but it is shallower off the end of the Jetty.

If you are going to try it, stand off and watch the route the Ferry takes, it avoids the shallow bits going in.
