I have a Trapper T28 and would like to fit a wind pilot for single-handed sailing.
I have been offered a Wind pilot Pacific which suits a much larger boat, came of a SHE 36.
Was wondering if this wind pilot would fit my boat. The correct option offcourse, is the Wind Pilot Pacific Light, but this is just under the £2000 mark.
Thanks

I managed to get a second hand Pacific from Peter at Windpilot.. cost me £1600! Of course new ones are well over £2000 so, I got a bargain..
You may think that the Pacific is too big for my boat, it being 23'. But no. The Pacific Light was too, well, too light to manage it. The Pac. Lght. is for boats less than 5,500lbs. Mine is 7,700 unladen. How much does your boat weigh?

Pacific is supposedly rated for boats up to 60 feet, but it's not a big unit and may well fit yours, although some mods would probably be needed. Suggest you contact Peter Forthmann at Windpilot: peter@windpilot.com
He speaks English and is invariaby helpful. Incidentally, since Euro soared, Pacific now costs £2850 new.
You'll also find lots of info, including drawings, at www.windpilot.com/en/Ra/rawelen.html
I have a Pacific on a 32-footer and am delighted with it. By all means PM me if you have any questions.
