Seems I started a furore by mentioning wind over tide, in response to Portland race. Here is another nautical term you may or may not of heard of, "What is a sparlash?" Answer posted today at 1900, if not discovered in the mwean time. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Got to put my hands up, I got three different answers none of which I was aware of and Wiggo even came up with a proper definition. Mine was "Noise made by anchor as it hits the water" So I will back away (tail between legs) and bow to the ingenuity of the forum, also safe in the knowledge that as far as I am concerned wind over tide is, water going East, wind going West. Or any opposite direction.
