I feel like we've paid our dues when it comes to weather. Many extra nights in Belgian and French ports waiting for something other than a NW. We even had to leave our boat in Nieuwpoort for a winter because we had to get back for work.

We've delayed holidays and missed trips because of carpy weather but now it's pay-back time.

Saturday and Sunday are getting ready days - wind in wrong direction anyway
Monday we head for Dover - F4/5 NW
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday we hop to Chichester, - F4 NE every day.

Don't bank on it lasting! - We're heading off down channel (or not!) on Thursday/Friday, so expect stiff south-easterlies becoming even stiffer south-westerlies as soon as we turn the corner, rain, hail, sleet, snow and plagues of frogs.

Think we had the grot last week! Stuck in Oostende in a full NWly gale and several days of NWlies and rain to follow. Just as we got back the weather brightened :-(

Come to think of it, we had planned to go away earlier. Maybe the weather gods hadn't picked up on the postponement.

Eldest daughter celebrating birthday with friends so gentle sail today. Huge electrical storms as predicted last night but this afternoon has been superb. Ipswich Haven for the night so entertainment is on hand. Nice to not have construction noise going on in the background!
