I have one on the top of my mast which I believe is working and is redundant. If you want to remove it and try it - fine by me- no cost. But note

Boat is afloat in D'mouth, I have mast steps and safety gear but it is still a long way up!.
If it ain't working not my fault ( display stopped working 3yrs ago)
You will have to cut the cable at the top and resplice it on your boat.

Hi valkyrie!

If you do decide to contact AW Marine, do ensure that you obtain a written quotation before parting from your money. I had a 'difficult' time about three years ago when the cost quoted by telephone rocketed by the time the bill came. This, by the way, was for a simple bearing repair. I refused to pay the increase and the bill was reduced. There have been many comments on high cost from other posters on several other 'Stowe' threads on this forum.

They are, IMHO, very expensive, as seems almost normal these days when there is a monopoly!!

cheers Jerry
