My Raymarine ST50 is not indicating the direction of the wind correctly. I am told it could be the "brushes" that are worn - its an old instrument now.

Is this something that is an easy self repair, or would I have to send it to a professional?

Anyone have experience of this?

Thanks!

I could just need calibrating at the instrument, if not, you can get a repair kit from Raymarine, but when I tried last year they had been on back order for several months. In the end I took mine, wind speed,to bits and discovered that it just needed some fettling with the bearings and bearing housing.
