Wind instrument fault

My raytheon ST60 wind instrument has an intermittent fault. When first turned on it usually reads correctly, but after a while it seems to get an incorrect wind direction (by anything from 1 to 180 degrees). As a result the apparent wind has the correct speed but wrong direction, which results in the true wind readout being wrong in both speed and direction.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Not the same fault, but similar with our Navico Corus instruments. Had to take it off and send it to Simrad for investigation. Apparently is was so corroded, it was beyond repair, so they sold us a new one.

You don't say how old your instrument is, but it could possibly be corrosion.
Have you tried re calibrating it. Instructions usually come in the manual. Suggest you contact the manufacturers for their opinion.

Good luck, it is not a happy situation having to buy a new one, fitting for one thing, cost the other.
