WIND GPRS in Greece for 3.49Euros per month??

I'm curious if the guy on prepaidgsm.net who appear to be knowledgeable is correct or if winds homepage is correct.
Over the winter I'm on wifi but when spring comes and It's time to start moving around I will give it a try and see what happens. Nothing can go wrong with a prepaid SIM with 5 euros of credit.
It did come with a few problems but 3.49 for unlimited internet was a great deal.

I'm not sure whether this has been aired recently as this is my first day back on-line for a month. Vodafone Greece do a dongle. In Levkas it will cost you something like 60 Euros, after jumping through hoops to convince them that you are a resident. In Preveza it will cost you 11 Euros, almost no questions asked. You can then take out a contract costing 15 Euros giving you (I think) 1 gigabyte per month. I have not done this but I know many who have.

Mind you, I've read of people with all sorts of deals with vodafone which don't seem to officially exist. I'd welcome further info on these, and how easy it is to cancel the contract at the end of the summer.

At the moment I'm assuming I'll use a set of prepaid cosmote SIMs - see caliston's posts on the prepaidsim site referred to.

As I mentioned over there, I think you should be able to access Poseidon weather using the WAP portal - even using a laptop. Can anybody who's actually in Greece confirm that?

Dave
Returning to Preveza Marine 23rd April - come & say hello.
