Will be cruising between Falmouth and Plymouth around the end of April. Just wondering if anyone could recommend a company or individual in that area who could refurbish an Aerogen 6 turbine. I suspect it needs a bit of work although parts are readily available from Jabsco. I'm currently in Dublin and whilst Jabsco (Cleghorn Waring) have a good service department who will refurbish it, the shipping cost is prohibitive. I'm reluctant to have a go myself as it is definitely not my area of expertise.

Hello,
It's relatively easy to demount and disconnect using one spanner, one small screwdriver, then similarly one spanner for the rotor blades and one spanner for the vane and rod. One large cardboard box for the hub with plenty of bubblewrap and down to the Post Office. Reassemble on return of serviced hub.
You know how to use a spanner and screwdriver. Off you go.

Spanners and screwdrivers are no problem. The shipping costs in excess of 120 euro are the problem!

Recently overhauled my own aerogen 6, got the blades from aerogen to replace the uv degraded ones and the bearings are standard skf sizes. I forget the size/number but ant decent bearing factor will have them as they are a common size. Can be a bit fiddly getting the rotor out without desoldering the connections but relatively straightforward.
