The question has probably been asked before, but does anyone have experience in fitting a Rutland 913 on the back of a Sadler 32? I have the pole kit that is sold with the generator

I installed one on my Elizabethan 30. It is clamped to the pushpit and I have two SS rods attached to the transom and side deck. These were made for me at the local workshop. It has been there for a year now and it has performed very well.

Hi. I installed a rutland 913 on the back transom of my sadler 32 just 4 months ago- what a coincidence!
Basically, the wind turbine is mounted on a length of scaffolding pole 2.7m high, and anchored to the hull using a scaffolding wall plate and elbow. In order to make ity really strong I also had to reinforce the inside area of the hull with 6mm marine ply and layers of fiberglass. The bottom of the pole was then bolted to the side of the hull with 3, 12mm ss hex heads.
The top part of the pole was supported with 2 lengths of 316 ss tube, with sleeves of the next size diameter stainless steel tube riveted on both ends and pinched in a vice so that they were flat. 9mm holes were drilled at the end and each assembly and was bolted to the toe rail and to scaffolding fittings way up the pole. It took a little while to do, and I admit that it was a bit of a rough job, but it supports the turbine very well, and is very strong. I have since sailed in f6/7 with absolutely no worries that it would fall down, and cost a lot less than having something made up at a fabricators/welders.

I used a company similar to this one for sourcing all the clamps.
Got my metal from here:

Cost was around £150 to install

Here are some pictures of my frankensteins handiwork. Yeah, its really ugly actually, but you get the idea.
I have also attatched the pole to the pushpit using 8mm square knots, the pole is really on solid.
Inthe next couple of months I will be replacing the main pole with 316 SS.

Mine is on a bracket on the mizzen, which is held on by about 8 maybe 9 self tappers. I adapted a Ampair Pacific bracket for my 913. It has been up for 7 years.
I wonder if people go a bit ott when mounting on the stern.
