Looks like an interlude over the next few days. Let's hope so as a chum and I are taking his boat from Hoo up to Levington, stop-over Pyefleet.
None of us really trust a Medway yard to do a reliable job at a decent price; he reckons that SYH are the best for what he wants: hoisting boat and checking swing keel; praps doing a coppercoat job on the hull.
We'll come back by train so avoiding wind against tide in Wallet and Swin

Funny about not trusting a local yard, other than a couple of independent tradesmen the Med is a bit of a dead zone for quality! We delivered our boat on Monday to a well know yard a little further up the Orwell as not convinced by the abilities of the usual suspects around here.

Why the overnight in Pyefleet? Seems like by the time you go into the Blackwater you'll be pretty much at the entrance to Harwich and crack it out in a tide. Nice to get a couple of days sailing in though but with the weather patterns recently getting from a-b as quickly as possible suited me!

Not criticising or being a know all git, just curious about the stopover!
Hope it goes well either way.
