Wind And Tide. Salcolmbe

Can some one please give me the wind direction and tide direction for Salcolmbe at 2-3 pm on Saturday 4 August, also aprox deapth about a mile out. Ta.

I've got no charts or tide tables here.

I think he is looking for his prop shaft, so needs to know tidal flow and wind drag of the boat

Tide was running West, I think. Depths about 1 mile south of the bar are between the 20m and 30m contours on my charts. Not sure on wind direction though.

Try the NCI station at Prawle Point, they log the wind speed, etc, so they could look back and tell you what they recorded. Probably logged your trouble as well!

Not sure if this helps but i looked at BA 2656 tide diamond D on my maptech electronic tidal predictions - this is about 10nm off Start point.

The depth is 20 t0 30m in the location you asked.


The tide at 'D' was 1400hrs NE'ly set 0.8knots
1500hrs E'ly set 0.4knots
1600hrs SW'ly set 0.8knots
