Winch socket adaptor thingy.

I have just been made a present of a vintage mechanical tug klaxon.
It is a wonderful beast and operates by pulling on a chain with a ring at the end.
Very loud...AAAOOOGAH !
I would like to mount it so I can fix it on top of a sheet winch for use when ...appropriate...
What I am looking for is some method of socketing it into the top of the winch in the star recess.
Winch handles have a little square flange at the base of the socket that lock them so they don't fall off.
I was wondering if an accessory exists so that other gadgets can be put there.
Has anybody here come across such an accessory ?

Cut up an old locking winch handle, and use the stem to mount your klaxon on. I saw a Dutch boat with a Parasol attached to the winch in a similar manner.

But how do you stop the 'ooter falling out if it gets bumpy ?
