Wilson\'s Boatyard

I know there is at least one other Scuttlebutter there, but I don't know who or which boat. Does anyone else about these parts keep their boat there?

Re: Wilson\'s Boatyard

I remember your posting it Talbot. It was about a day after I had paid my deposit!

Is Hi Jude in the water at the moment?

Re: Wilson\'s Boatyard

I wintered there the winter before last. One night I stayed on board and about 11pm I awoke to see about a dozen of the local yobbery race through the yard causing mayhem. My 999 call was answered very promptly by 3 patrol cars full and 4 of the louts were apprehended. Happy Barry and David were then (at last) talking about gates and/or cameras - has there been any improvements in security at all?.

Well the posts ought to scare folk off!

In fairness, I have seen the police popping in on a couple of sunday afternoons recently, including a cycle-mounted one, resplendant in a Hants Police skid-lid. To my mind, it really needed a blue flashing light to complete the look.

We saw that Allez Cat was back in the water on Saturday.

Do you know anything about the Macwester 26 Toni Quay?

Re: Wilson\'s Boatyard

Sold my last boat from there (Victory 40) after several years of laying up there. Always a nice place I thought.

However, I did have a blarny on the sales commission they demanded, which I politley declined to pay, as they had never given me a written contract, and had never drawn attention to this.

I want to go back there this year - not sure weather they will want me back.......

I never had anything stolen from there, but I did have my rubber dinghy slashed twice at Hayling Island sailing club!

Re: Wilson\'s Boatyard

I fear that HISCs attitude towards public access to Sandy Point really creates bad feeling amongst the locals and this is on top of the disquiet with the way inwhich the land was obtained and the club building funded.

Re: Wilson\'s Boatyard
