Is anybody looking for local crew for day sailing in the newcastle area? I currently sail inland however I am very keen to experience some coastal sailing.......mind you I am rubbish at making tea!

You should not have admitted that.

Have you tried Blythe (Royal Northumbria YC) and Amble Marina .. recently down there when boat hunting.. there seem to be loads more yachts than there were when I lived in Newcastle.. not so long ago!

You're near the end of the summer. If you fancy day sailing in the autumn/ winter the only people mad enough to do that are the racers. If you have raced dinghies you will be particularly welcome.

There's now a club at St Peter's Marina in Newcastle and Sunderland YC used to race all year. I don't think RNYC at Blyth was an all-year racing club when I was in Newcastle in the Eighties, but it might have changed.

I suppose your final remark was made out of modesty. However it might give the impression that you don't want to chip in on the necessary chores around a boat. I would make it clear if I were you because people don't want passengers on their boats, they want team members.

the remark was made with humor rather than modesty and I would think the majority of non passenger seeking skippers would recognise it as such...........just for the record my coffee is the talk of tynside.

Allways got room for a good coffee maker, SWMBO readily admits to being a 'sunny weather' sailor, sea/wind state not important but heaven help me if I've forgotten to book some sun, so reckon there is a good chance of odd trip out, have P.M'd you. Regards Mike.
