A friend of ours, Melissa, has recently moved to Kent from the USA. Having sailed with us on a recent cruise of the Thames estuary, she is very enamoured of the local barges and classic yachts and looking for a way to get involved and on the water.
So I suggested a charity or trust running a barge, or a volunteer crew maintaining a classic yacht - and wondered if any of you can recommend a contact.
Would need to be within sensible bus or train trip from Canterbury, and she's not an experienced sailor but keen and interested.
