Will have to start smoking roll ups again!

My late father's garage in NZ still has a few thousand Erinmore Flake pipe tobacco tins holding a lifetime's mismatched nails and screws. That lifetime was just shy of 90 years, proving pipe smoking's efficacy in both storage and longevity.

You were promising us on another thread you'd be the picture of sartorial elegance when on your Dufour 24, no doubt showing up those scruffy Spaniards.

Surely a pipe, rather than roll ups, is called for?
That’s as maybe but On a French Dufour 24 I think I would cut a dash with a roll up hanging off my owner lip in a stripped jersey🤔

+1 for ziplock bags. We use these Amazon.co.uk which have three lines of label space. Bag up the bits, label them, and store in a big tupperware container. I have one tupperware each for bolts, screws, crimps, misc. and it works very well for finding things.

I use plastic trays typically found in carry out food shops, like these: -

Takeaway Containers

£8 for 20 tubs, compared to around £5 to buy one tobacco tin, or £25 for the plastic pouch full of Tobacco.
I find the lids come off those too easily.
For small things I use a bunch of old 35mm film pots supplemented by very similar pots my test sticks got my blood sugar meter come in. For bigger things, good old jam jars with screw lids.

My experience is the exact opposite, secure, tight fitting lids. The plastic trays can be brittle and get damaged if dropped on the corner. However, in lockets, or under bunk storage they pack in well. They are my go to, default storage option for small that fits in them.
