Will flush muffs fit on a VP 290 out-drive?

I'm guessing NO because the water intake it at the front of the gearbox, instead of in the middle, but would be interested to hear if anyone has done it before?

I run in freshwater so don't need to use flush muffs, it's sheer curiousity

Easier to use a plastic dustbin and adapt it to fit . fill with water and run engine

Yes! although it helps to block off the drain hole at the bottom of the gearbox housing.

I spotted this little hole (ooh er!) this morning, it's just under the water intake. You say it's a drain, but where exactly does it drain from? Is there a little resivoir underneath the grated water intake, and this hole is at the bottom of that resivoir?

Yes, I still use my old flush muffs for my VP 290 DP's. You just have to remember to plug the 6mm hole right at the bottom of the leg with a bit of wood or summink.
