As in title will cleaner containing 25% hydrochloride acid do damage to Grp and gel coat if used to remove shell growth on a hull? I've scraped off what I can but there's still quite a bit left sticking to the hull.
TIA.

I have used this for many years to clean the brown scum off around the waterline, I brush on, leave for about five minutes then wash off. Never had a problem, I'm sure you will do the appropriate risk assessment and slip into a pair of Marigolds !

should be quite OK. More danger to yourself than the GRP. Perhaps dilute the acid and try see if it will do the job on crustaceans. You may find tha tth ecrustacean has gone but the dame to gel coat and undercoats of paint remains. Only sanding will fix that roughness. If it is a shiny gel coat type trailer boat that has been left too long in the water the shiny finish will be destroyed. (takes about 3 weeks here in Perth with no a/f paint) good luck olewill
