Will a hydrometer made for ethylene glycol read for OAT antifreeze?

Some of the ads seem to specify EG but I haven't seen one that specifies OAT antifreeze, is there a difference in the specific gravity that would make the test invalid for OAT?

YES

OAT antifreeze is ethylene glycol based

OAT ( organic acid technology) refers only to the corrosion inhibitors.

A differently calibrated hydrometer is needed for non toxic propylene glycol antifreeze.

The same advertiser offers Bluecol which surprised me as I haven't heard of that A/F for many years and it always had a good reputation. Turns out that it's windscreen scraper .... .

Bluecol Antifreeze is still avaiable. They also make a long life / OAT antifreeze .... which is red!

Bluecol Blue is what I use in vintage cars - it's easily available from online suppliers and from some parts shops. It's also toxic to humans and furry pets, so if you need to take a contract out on a pet . . .
