WiFi. Help!!

OK I'm not an expert all I can say is we down load very little but we top up once a month for 15€ and don't switch the laptop off. It is connected lituraly 24/7 we only use it for weather forcasts and such as this site maybe a few google serches and skipe calls etc and It has never run out of credit. So I don't know if i'm missing something here or you are planning mass downloads.

All Im confirming is they work and you soon learn what size top up you require. We have gone from 25€ per month as anything else seemed too cheep for the service. But now just topping up with 10-15€

Is this in The Balearics? Which Network? Is it a contract, or Pay as you go? Can you roam out of Spain.... say, France, or Italy? If so, how much per Mb for roaming?

The OP is talking about going to France for a few months, so not worth taking out a monthly contract and, AFAIK, PAYG mobile broadband is either very expensive, very limited, or non existent, in France.

Spain might be a different story. As mentioned above, I used YOIGO in Spain in 2007, and WIND and TIM in Italy. In Malta I have a monthly contract as PAYG broadband is a fortune there.

Thanks to everyone who took the trouble to post and offer advice. Will keep this thread and make a final decision in the weeks before we set off.
