Hi all
Has anyone any experience of a" Repeatit hotspot wifi booster."
The claims of up to 1 km range are impresive but are they in reality.

We use one - it CAN pickup stuff up to a mile away, but a weak signal. Sitting on the boat here in Horta right now we can currently see 13 different networks.

Lots of people we have met have had good results with kitchen sieves and chinese rice spoons though . . .

Im reading this post on an old compaq M300 which has an Italian bios/body keys changed almost to French so i have sometimes to guess and a German HDD from a 500megs version(this is an Italian 333 meg pentium 2 not 500 P3 so the graphic cards wrong)
My IBM was "hit" by lightning, there was blue light allabout when i went below my IBM worked but no longer with my pringels antenna nor my small parabol reflector which has a wi-fi usb in its center of signal reflection

Such is life,im now saveing up for a secondhand dell x3 ive seen for sale at 380 euros.Vista is like win 98 revisited so secondhand XP only

Please send contributions to my plastic cup.Thank you

Awful weather cant understand it?

Using it now to read your post. Very happy with it, been using it all round Mallorca. Only downside is that we have been in touch with the "real" (ha, ha,) world too much because of it.

Recommend it.

My M300 will only work with a cable or an old PCMI /the large slot on the side wi-fi adapter but not via the USB

The large wi-fi adapters that fit in that old slot are far more powerful than any of the usb ones and cheep!Ive seen some for sale at knock down prices that have huge ranges and power output! Just look around before they arnt made anymore the prices are around 20/60 euros

Beware!

This company -
www.wirelesspro.co.uk
took my credit card money for one of these Repeatit USB Hotspot boosters early in June. I still haven't received the goods, nor have I had any notification, etc and emails go unanswered. Telephoning today, they were very unsure as to when they would be 'back in stock' (". . . they're very popular . . . ") (??!!), so I've demanded a refund.
Suggest the firm is best avoided - they obviously take money for things they don't have, nor have any idea when they will have . . .
