I'm looking for a very wide jaw shackle for the tack of the furling mainsail on my Jeanneau SO 45. Thread on existing 13 year old shackle is quite worn. Width of shackle jaw is 35mm and so is the height. Pin is 6mm diameter. See attached photos of dimensions and shackle in situ.
Many Google searches have failed to find a near equivalent. Majority of 'wide jaw D shackles with a 6mm pin have a jaw width of 25mm.
I don't think the shackle has to be very strong, its only resisting the sail upward force on the mainsail tack, which cannot be enormous. But it does have to fit!
Currently using threadlock, but may also change to pin with eye rather than socket head so that it can be wired in place. Just a very tricky place to fit wiring - through the keyhole at base of mast
All suggestions for shackle sources welcomed.
I will also post this in Jeanneau owners network.
