Why would you want to sail abroad?

Is Waterford really "abroad"?

Anyway assuming "abroad" means somewhere foreign, south and speaking a different language, I guess there are two main reasons for sailing there: warmth and food quality

Because you get dressed for sailing by putting on a swimming costume and suntan cream. That's why we did most of our sailing in the tropics.

I have never gone further South than Brittany by sail but come late May I am sailing South. The UK weather in 2012 has finally knocked the senses into me. What are we sailing here for? See you all in the Med if my luck holds.

Ah, welcome to sanity my friend. Just bought myself another set of sailing gear - 3 pairs of swimming trunks and some tee shirts to keep the sun off.
