Why The Thames forum and not the rivers forum?

My wife calls GRP flybridge boats "Daleks". Used to moor at Medmenham a lot until Steve rented the moorings out to permanent stayers, but would look across the meadow to boats from Harleyford coming upstream and they do look like a group of Daleks on a mission.

There are several Great Ouse boaters who happily post on here.... And the Rochester/Medway guys do too.

If the canal boaters can manage not to use the term splitters we will in turn not use the terms "tin slugs" and "sewer tubes".

Sound fair?

And don't forget the spattering of us who post from the Trent :)

I perhaps don't visit the Thames forum very often. But perhaps would if there was a bit more River Trent/HumberYorkshire Ouse talk on it.
I believe the Trent is the third longest river in the UK . .........after the Severn and the Thames.
The Humber has a catchment of some 24000 sq km equal to 20% of the area of England.
I have little doubt the Thames has a few more boats.
Surely you can post what you like on the Thames forum or any of the other ybw sections as long as its kind of boating related and reasonably polite?
.

Two rivers ( and 2 only ) mentioned in the Domesday book one of them was the M****y , the name of other one escapes me at the moment.
One is full of history, visited possibly by Phoenicians, definately by the Vikings,Romans and Normans. The Dutch and HMS Victory was built there .
The other was used by the odd king to get to his fancy wimmin unobserved , to avoid having to mix with the hoi poli and to move the castle sewage.
Its main claim to fame more recently appears to be the disgraced entertainers and celebrities whos houses once lined its banks.
Tie me kangeroo down sport. :)
