I have a small glass bowl diesel filter that also allows the water to settle in it. It has done its job v well since my ownership and is soem years old. the very thin flat gauze filter has crumbled and I went to get a spare. They said they don't do them any more. 'What you want is a modern one - like this £28 normally. On inspection and dismantling (while the man in the parts supply was off counter) of the 'modern' one we found the flat guaze filter fitted our old one to a 'T'. Innocently we asked if there were spares available for the modern one and were told all parts were available. In that case we said please order us a new filter for the modern one and we'll put it in our old one and save some money. Dismay followed and a promise to order the part was given.
