Have just spent Friday and Saturday night in Poole, anchored off Brownsea. Took the dinghy on Saturday night to Poole quay for a curry and to watch the bank holiday tourists /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Had a nice meal, dinghy back to lovely quiet anchorage with a handful of other boats.

Meanwhile Poole quay marina and the quay itself were reminiscent of some pop festivels I attended in my youth. Absolutely chocker, noisey and chaotic.

Just wondering is all.... /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Re: Why Do We Own Boats?

SWMBO was on a training course last week where the trainer was amazed
1 that she has a yacht
2 that she sails it.

He goes to his 'friends' yacht in Brighton marina for champers parties but they never leave the dock 'cos they're to scared!

When asked why his 'friend' has a yacht at all the reply was 'prestige, dear, prestige'

Takes all sorts, I suppose.

Re: Why Do We Own Boats?

This guy I met the other day on Coniston goes sailing for one reason.
(and when he's not doing that he works on one of the Launches)
