With their b........y props. After the designers have spend zillions of hours getting a balance twixt fuel economy, speed and non stressed load to your diesel. What is it that makes no nothing owners believe that a change of whirly bits will enable them to see off everything else parked in the marina./forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

I changed from alloy to Stainless Steel with the help of steel developments, it has made the boat more smoother, more fuel efficient, and given me another 7mph top end. Not bad for quick prop change, and I also now have the alloy as a spare /forums/images/icons/wink.gif as I do like spares /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

At £3000 a piece, mine are staying just as they are!! Did once get a quote for four bladers, to replace my three bladers, £5000 a piece! I guess you know what type I've still got! Proper bronze ones aswell.

But how much fuel and long will it take to pay you back for the cost of the stainless one?

Was your boat a one off or did they build any more. There is a very similar looking boat up on dockyard moorings.Thing is, it has no masts and looks to be a motor only beast.Just curious.

Englander is a one off, but there's a very good chance, she is a silver ormidale, same designer, John Bain, wheelhouse and cabin is a little further forward and the hull underwater is different, but they do look similar. can you remember what her name is, if it begins with "Silver ..........." Then it's definitely a silver ormidale.

I think mine have paid for themselves already /forums/images/icons/wink.gif I got mine on a special offer of £220 + Vat, there is a 10% discount if you pay cash e.g. not on a credit card. that makes a Titan 3 blade £232 incl VAT, an absolute bargain if you ask me. The Volvo one which is more than likely made at the same factory is about £700.

Look at :-

I was there both days, Sat went to Southend and Queenborough, then Sunday met Canboria whilst fishing near Queenborough. Went to see if you were around at about 5pm Sunday, but the berth was empty. I was down there tonight, got the boat ready, started her up, called the lock keeper for permission to exit, and was told it was broken!!! So I just did some parking and manoevering practice. The lock is now fixed by the way.

Unless the hull is a planing type the thing will only go up to it's designe speed and just make more waves sitting on the hump !!!. Must be a little willy syndrome ha ha .

cheers
Mick

Not sure manufacturers spend that much time on it, they don't do much testing with prototypes, certainly not in the past anyway. My boat was built with the wrong prop and wasn't discovered until nearly 6 years later, think they just fitted what arrived with the engine and drive, no sea trial, owner before me just pottered up and down the river Ouse so never noticed. With all the different engine options on some boats i don't suppose they test them all with different props under different loads etc.
Have to agree about some people though, but its probably because the original manufacturers claims were optimistic.

No sorry it wasn't me, but what happened? I don't think a Targa 37 would have a hope in hell of catching me anyway /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif Where were you last night? we were out donutting til late, popped passed later and you were not there, are you scared of the dark? /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Talking about boats getting wasted, on Sunday I think it was, I saw a Seadoo four seater soap dish looking thing that was blasting along and took off over some wash, it went verticle about 10ft and then seemed to come down backwards, I think they got the fright of their lives as they carried on VERY slowly. The boat did look like a soap dish, very round, a bit like a flying saucer /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif
