Sorry to hijack your signature. My pal and I had fun at the Southampton BS by collecting pens from as many stalls as possible. We obtained some quality stuff and most stallholders were very obliging. No luck at Raymarine though - they'd run out of stock. Their stand was very busy though. Also got some useful key rings and sail ties which made the visit more productive.
I think the days of obtaining a boatshow special deal are long gone - the value is being able to compare different makes under one roof and interrogate the salesmen/women face to face.
