Wots your favourite 'Why didnt I think of that before' hint or tip or wotever?
Ever since getting my P32 last year and a marina berth I have parked bow in and got on and off at the outer end of the pontoon finger which bobs up and down quite violently and is rather narrow so not very good for trolley with all swmbo's gear etc.
This weekend while swmbo was visiting marina facilities (dont allow use of portapotti in home berth!) I decided to have a little fun and turned boat round so's stern in to berth just to see how easy it was to manouever in now Ive got two engines that actually work at the same time......magic....cant believe how much easier it is to get on and off etc etc....Question is after almost a year in the marina.....why didnt I think of it before?

Fantastic. For years now i have found it necessary to have one crew member in a dinghy, to push the bow from one side and then the other. However, I then decided to use the steering wheel and i must say it's a lot easier.

Mine is a check list of things that need to be done before setting off. I always used to forget something on every trip (some which were safety critical!)
So I made a checklist and it came to 32 items albeit some very small points. Not surprising really that I always used to forget a few. Why didn't I think of that before?.

My one is using the Loo on someone else's boat. Saves emptying mine. Ditto for drinkies, have a jar on their boat saves buying booze myself.

U know the mooring mate thing.. bouy with weight on the bottom of a pole that holds the end of your mooring line... so you don't have to try and hook it out of the water. bloody good idea... if a little pricey... but then i'm tight!!

someone make one for a tenner aand i'll buy it.

Hadnt forgotten the fridge...how could I seeing as MMS stayed open after hours for you - having previously told me to s*d off...!!!
Come to think of it, must have been one of the last fridges sold by MMS prior to their untimely demise !
And dont forget it was your expat glaswegian friend's travelling companion that led to me employing the Bosun..................
