So it's been a long, dark and gloomy 5 months. Work is quite frankly rubbish and there has been nothing to look forward to. Until finally....... my boat goes back in the water on Friday! Thank the lord, I was about to go stark crazy mad.

Service done. Anti Foul done. Polish done. Pre season checks and cleaning done. Launch on Friday morning and a lovely F1 / F2 forecast to have a play around the solent.

Bring on 2017 and the adventures ahead. I am planning a 2 week trip to Cornwall in late summer along with a few long weekends at various new destinations. Can't wait!

Who else is ready for 2017 and the season upon us..!

Almost, the boat is back in the water after the annual polishing and anti fouling and removing of all last years accumulated junk, Servicing on engines in the next week or so by engineer

All I have left to do is sort out last years removed rubbish then load this years rubbish on the boat :)

Ready for lots of fishing cruising and socialising, happy days ahead :encouragement:

First trip out was this last weekend. Just a short trip with more than usual engine bay checks as I have recently changed the oil and filters . No leaks or engine issues .
Batteries not performing but otherwise it was a weekend of pure relaxation therapy.

We are.....:D

Our new (to us ship) escaped Brundall yesterday after some work we had done on her before moving her 'home'.

Webcam images of arriving.

Had a horrible trip from Cardiff to Portishead last weekend, 17nm and 2.5 hours!
Still, gave us some confidence in the new boat
New DSC and plotter bought, fuel tanks full, sea flat, and SWMBO not very well! In port cleaning the bog!
Roll on next weekend!

I was out and about last weekend in Bembridge....lovely weekend with great weather for the time of year.

My Targa stays in the water all winter and has a week out in May so I guess I've been ready all year.

Our season started last weekend when we brought our new to us Sessa around from Hamble to Torquay. First leg from Hamble to Portland on Saturday, then second leg from Portland to Torquay on Sunday with full covers off! A brilliant weekend and very good experience.

Lyme Bay was as flat as I've ever seen it!

That's a good trip. I bought my boat in Falmouth and my first trip on it was back to Southampton. We had flat seas all the way home.....so lucky for October as well.

We are up and running for the season after a few months ashore.

Had our first proper run at the weekend to check all was running as it should be. Glad to say it was.

Now getting ready for our summer trip to Scotland. We have a week on the Caledonian followed by a week on the West Coast.

the best laid plans for this particular mouse (or Man) are club cruises to
Burham on Crouch
Conyer in the Swale.
Ramsgate.
Poss... Holland
A trip to the Thame, never quite made it to Byron Towers.
Faversham
......and whatever ad hoc trips above the lock and elsewhere we can manage.
Plus all the usual local events such as the Admiral of the River Cruise weekend and a big invasion of Dutch yotties in late June.Predicated to exceed 200 boats at the moment.
Probably going to give a cruise up the East Coast a miss tho....
Now if i can just wangle a trip or two down to Cala d Or ,that should sort the summer nicely. :)
Anybody going to predict the weather ?

Nice pic there of Naughty-Cal. Glad you had a good time back on the water. Love the blogs btw.

Some awesome replies guys. Would be great to get more pics up of your shiny pre-season boats / money pits on here...

This time around, I paid to have the polishing and antifouling done: the brown roof has come up very well.
But I did do the outdrives.
I put the props back on, then I read the procedure for changing the outdrive oil ...
"Step 1 ... Remove the props"
