Who\'s in and who\'s out

Just wondering how many of us will sail through the dark age's of winter, SWMBO and i like to sail short hopes in the cold crisp days hence may summer haul out and blitz of required works.
Well thats the official line, however truth is more like it gives us a chance to show of our dodgy boat handling but makes it easier to get the mouring or berth we aiming at /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif.

Got back from Cyprus last night sad to miss the Green man looks like you had a fine time and a decent sail into the bargin.

Harlequin will stay in. She was bumscrubbed in July, so will survive until spring before she needs to come out for another.

RD will be going back in soon after getting everything just right (warranty work). She will then stay in & be used regularly until spring when she comes out for anti-foul & service. We are treating the new drive legs with propshield so will let everyone know how it works next spring. We found the usual Trilux type anti-foul didn't last long.

Re: Who\'s in and who\'s out

Original plan was stay in until Xmas then come out until April. As we are away for 4 weeks in Feb/March this leaves me doing jobs in Jan or rushing in late March if weather permits all of which doesn't seem like a great idea. So tempted to come out in a few weeks and do some jobs in December when it isn't so cold.

Can't decide if sailing in cold weather is really my scene - have to try it and see.

Re: Who\'s in and who\'s out

As usual , T25 does it all differently /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif we are hoping to launch in time for some winter sailing , having spent the entire summer on the hard /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

T25 - Change that avatar - now.

WAY too confusing /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

PS: Guapa in & staying - sails very badly on the hard.
Moving from swinging mooring to a pontoon berth next week

Re: Who\'s in and who\'s out

As I'm one of the guys that helps lift out the boats in our club, I spose my boat will probably one of the last to get hauled out!

But then again after a crap summer........who knows there could be sunny winter days around the corner, so unless we get adverse weather this winter she'll stay in to around March.

Then out for a quick anti fouling! /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Re: Who\'s in and who\'s out

I'm in until Jan, I love an overnight sail somewhere the weekend before christmas, then lay up until April when it's prep time for the a packed season of glorious summer days /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif exploring the South Coast and then the RTI race then part two of the Summer cruise back up the other side to Belgium and Holland, unless the weather's pants again /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Re: Who\'s in and who\'s out

Coming out on Saturday.
Towing her home.
She will be just 5 steps from the back door.
Lots of jobs on the list.
Won't get started on them until December due to other commitments.

Hope to get back in before the end of March.

Re: Who\'s in and who\'s out

We appear to be non-conformist as far as all this laying up etc goes. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
Our usual pattern is in. Full stop.
Out every couple of years for a week or two when the yard starts their summer deals on liftout and storage ashore. (That is also the best time to do all those jobs outside.)
Then again, we are permanently on board.
Also, having a nice cosy pilothouse makes trips out in the winter no problem. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
