Interesting. Jimmy Green rep when asked agreed with Neeves:
For our boat:
Lighthouse windlass.
Ketten Walder 10mm stainless chain
Ultra 45 kg anchor
(There goes the Christmas bonus...)
The Professional Navigator got very excited on the Mailasail stand. The conversation went clean over my head and I must ask him to explain it to me but the Red Box is apparently something I want. On the same stand the charming lady from the OCC asked me to sign the visitors book for Club members but the last signature on it was Jeanne Socrates (!!!) so I asked for another page to sign on as I am a very junior member.
The thing I have committed to is the autopilot bolt on to the Monitor wind vane. This is a new development by Scanmar and it looks really good. Scanmar have just pulled another rabbit out of the hat which converts the vane paddle into an auxiliary rudder a la Hydrovane.
The talk by Tony Curphey was outstanding. Duncan Wells also good but we already knew that! I am going to nick lots of Tony Curphey’s arrangements.
