Went to Bembridge this weekend, as we prepared to anchor on the beach a surge dumped us up on the high water line and we were stuck. Fortunately Sunday's tide was the same height as Saturday, but it took the combined efforts of 2 launches and 5 guys pushing to get us off, we would have been neaped till next Tues at least.
All credit to the secretary and his colleagues at the Bembridge sailing club for their assistance, they saved the day.
Moral: don't ground on the beach at High water, either go early or late, or drop the hook further out, the surge in the harbour and also in Priory bay can be quite high, it certainly caught us out!! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
Still love multis though.
