just for the record , I only specialise in colregs involving sailing boats either under power or otherwise , a sub is just way beneath ;)

You always advise that yachts should ram power vessels, but you are not sure who should ram who in this case then?

Please tell me my posts have nt been misinterpreted to that extent , my posts arent designed to advise anyone, my thoughts in general (qualified as there are exceptions) are that pleasure boats should to get out the way , reasons too numerous to go into now but I could do a bit of copy past if so desired . ;)

Well I suppose with the 'missing yacht' thread about to explode I should put my fishing rod back in the box for another time.

Still, if you ever pass by Gib I would be happy to take you for a saily boat ride around the Bay (understand you sail too) and get some good photos of boats for discussion on here.

I believe American submariners call the conning tower of a submarine a sail, so it may be back in your area after all.

Anyway, what's the problem? A US cruiser has detected a submarine with its sonar dome, isn't that what they're supposed to do. :D

My preference is sail however I had the choice of sail alone or power with the wife. thanks for the offer of a sail and keen to accept :)
I dont suppose thats Gibraltar point near skeggy which is a short drive for me , otherwise if it the one with monkeys I am due to pass next June but may chicken out as too many tragic accidents recently.

As to the MIA , we will see, personally I am optimistic that she will be found safe and well.............eventually.

Good luck with the race if you do go ahead and yes Im at the warmer one!

Thought it would be an idea to take some pictures and compare with AIS for assessing whats really happening. Loadsa ferries, vessels coming in for bunkers, shipping lanes in the Straits.

Might help a few people out.

Put on back burner for now, mebbe one day.
