We took a ride down to Plymouth today.
Had a nice brisk walk with the dog on the hoe then stopped to see how our new baby was coming along.
No appointment so we didnt go in - instead had a look from the other side of the dock.
When I checked a couple of days ago, they said that she had failed her first sea trial and that they were fitting different props so it seems that things are starting to come together.

Here are some pics taken earlier today.

There she is next to the pontoon and steps.

"Hiding behind the little P58."

Love it! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

She does look good though, I really like the toe rail at the bow on the bigger boats, it's more ship like and I see even the P58 doesn't have it. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

For some reason the first pic was clear as day but the others gradually went more and more out of focus

Sorry , I was drooling on the screen , all cleaned up now and yes , she is a beauty . Please don't let my wife see this thread

Ive noticed. Princess always do a real job and test the boats at sea. Even heard them rescuing a few. on test runs.
Dont know any other builder. that actually drops boats into the briny straight after building, then tests them, full bore out the Sound.

Princesses going through there paces is a daily event in the Sound .

They do it in all conditions. Know idea what fails the test/

Looks like a Buy One, Get One Free sale /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

May you both have many happy sea miles together !

I bet you are!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Looks FAB!

Absolutly fab!

Reminds me of when i saw my baby for the first time.

The sea trial is interesting as they told me that they fit a set of props that were made of the boat during the build and hold two other sets with more/less pitch to fit case need after sea trial. As others say the sea trial is carried out whatever the weather and as most Princesses go abroad the delv to S'hampton is a second trial too so its fair to say that once you get your boat the doors will still be in postion after you hit your first wash in your ownership..

Good luck with her and enjoy your day in Plymouth when it comes around (SWMBO/self were invited down to look over the craft and have a 1/2 at sea once the factory handed it to PMYS - then we took delv at Swanwick a couple weeks later).

As a point of interest - I had my radar/navnet etc fitted by Ted after she left the factory - was yours fitted during build or after launching?
