was what was written on the Folly Pontoon on Saturday afternoon.

Another Scuttlebutt event has come and gone as a sucess.

Neraida, Bedouin, Peppermint (proxy visit by taxi) and Asterie made it for dinner at the Folly Inn, Cowes.

We had a great sail over, tacked downwind to the delight of themount2. We registered 25Kts true wind past the Forts when the comment came "whats up with all these boats, look at them all reefed in!"

Made it to the Folly after lunch, cracked a(nother) beer and awaited the arrival of the others, Sadly Tome couldn't make it nor could RobP).

WOOSH - Neraida the rocket ship arrives, two oilskinned bodies appear, bright red faces, cold ears, twenty minutes from Southampton to Cowes..
Later Bedoin arrives all sitting comfy, memory fading beer cold......

At some point Pepertmint arrives (by taxi) left boat and rest of the crew in East Cowes..

Dinner in the Folly, which was very nice too, and back to Asterie for nightcaps and put the world and the forum to rights!

Sunday morning sail back, perfect wind that died as we arrived at East Head for Lunch.

Good to meet everyone, next time a few more S/Bers.. Date suggestions required..

Ian

Glad to read you had another good weekend.

I was thoroughly enjoying myself (not) with paint brush and roller in readiness for outlaws coming to stay for Christmas.

Re dates suggestions, anything after April 1st would be of interest to me.

Re: A Top Event

A select gathering but no less fun for that. It's good now to put a few faces to the posts as it were.

I was back in Hamble in time to spend a nervous 80 mins watching England try to play rugby. The crew were good for nothing though. See you let them out of your sight for a minute.

If anything else is going on let me know.

Re: A Top Event

It was so much like the old days, that I half expected Max Boyce to start singing about 'blind Irish referees'....

Actually, the refereeing in that match seemed a touch better than in some of the others - I doubt SA refs were flavour of the month in the Valleys after the All Blacks game.

Re: A Top Event

I fear the 27th December may lead to another hangover - could you bring your boat all the way this time - the channel is really easy..

Glad you had a good sail over the weekend. We were out and reckon we saw you passing the forts. We were one of those reefed in but had a great sail nontheless. Not sure if the rugby was worth coming home for (which is why we didnt join you at the folly). Will keep looking at the Forum for future dates but boat will be out of the water from the end of this month till the end of jan. Hope to join you for a sail sometime after that.

Another great Scuttlebutt bash - glad to have put a few more faces to names. And the rugby result brought a smile to Bedouin's face!
