Me for one. So many problems and inferior working routines. Of course the kno*bs at IPC will never admit they're wrong (as usual) and put this right. Poor old Snooks having to try to keep it going instead of being out snapping away at boats.

As a total computor IDIOT, i must say that i find this "lay out" harder to "work with" and much less "user friendly"!!!!!...eg. i cant find the "preview" when replying to posts (i try and check my spellinz!!) before i post !.................. sorry if this a stupid question, but what was wrong with the other one that warrented a total rebuild in the first place???

It must be me but I've got no issue with it. Yes I found it difficult for a start to get to grips with the colour change, but unless they have tweaked it, my eyesight must of got used to it??

Morning Steve,

Did you know you get free sweets with this version?? You just have to claim them from Mercury, Easter onwards!! :D

There is tab called "go advanced"

insulting to those working behind the scenes and bang out of order :(

I don't know but I'd suspect the internally hosted old site (if it was) was too expensive to continue with without charging for its use so IPC have gone to a hosting provider and are forced to use their software. Get used to it, all the whinging and whining aint going to put it back. Personal insults to those working to make it better, certinly won't help either

Well said Gary

The new site works perfectly for me. I can't see what all the fuss is about.

I just think there are plenty on here who would complain if they were given free beer and hot and cold running wanton women.

not the end of the earth though Lisa... indeed, a double post from yourself is a thing to be welcomed :)

it'll get sorted but if I am correct, it'll not be IPC that needs to sort it, it'll be the new hosting provider. If they can;t then at least IPC have many more options to move to a better quality provider now that they're on a standard bit of software. Happy to be proven wrong on those thoughts by those in the know i.e. not sure the old stuff was standard or not but do know, I'd not seen that format used elswhere personally.

Poor rollout of software at YBW forum - perhaps on other IPC fora as well.

I hate to see a brand such as IPC dragged into the mud by its own ineptitude and lack of forward planning.

Posts about problems with the changeover and software release are becoming more frequent and vitriolic, and it is clear that the reputation both of IPC and Time Warner is being blackened in the area of its principal customer base. The damage to an organisation which claims to be among the world's leading communicators is increasing daily, and is not helped by the apparently limited resources being applied to fix the forum problems, and by the failure to communicate what is being done to resolve the issues which have been clearly identified by skilled users amongst the customers.

My background is crisis management and control, and I have worked on many high-level IT rollouts for FTSE companies. I cannot recall seeing a release as badly handled, or a consequent communciation response to customers which is so feeble and unsustained.

Please look into the problems, and see if my concerns are justified.

Aww bless you you old smoothy lol. I don't have a problem with the odd glitch and teething troubles, as you say...not the end of the world but lately it's been every time I try to post and it just gets tedious and it seems to be getting worse. You are right tho...more trouble at sea than this in the world.

.

Point in question. Just sent a PM to Sarabande and it's disappeared off the face of the earth (well, this forum at least)
I find that certain actions, e.g like replying with quotes, seem to lock my computer for quite a while.

I'm not having any of those issues. I'm on Windows 7 via Sky on a home broadband connection. Maybe you're on something different and that's where the issue is? or maybe a setup in your profile is causing an issue e.g. you're on the mobile version rather than, say, IPC blue?
