Didn't someone say that the record for circumnavigation under power is slower than the record under sail?

If so, surely someone should setup Ellen's boat with a nice little power-pack to be used for a few miles through the calms or other slow bits, and send her round again.

A Waste of GRP

They should also get the award for most useless use of GRP! As well as the 'So What' award for proving the bloody obvious that an engine can be powered by bio fuels to travel round (partially) the world = so what!!! Doesn't make up for seaman ship though does it!!! Still managed to run down a fisherman....

Now talking of real seaman ship, did anyone hear Knox Johnson's brother on BBC 1 this am. He was asked how his 68 yr old brother had trained for his round the world trip and he said 'Whisky and cigarettes mainly' brilliant, now there is a proper sailor, I gather he didn't mow anyone down in the process either!!
