Who / where are Bowmans?

We're trying to get hold of the company who marinised the Ford diesel engine in our boat. According to a plate on the side of it, they're called Bowmans and did the work in 1988. Does anyone have any info. about where they are based / how to get hold of them?

i believe in those days Bowman yachts were on the waterfront at emsworth (later moved to an industrial estate in havant. doesn't sound like the sort of thing they would do but the name is the same.

The only Bowman's I know of are
E. J. Bowman (Birmingham) Ltd.
Chester Street
Birmingham
and they make heat exchangers for many types of marine engines including Fords. Are you sure the marinised the engine and the plate is not on the heat exchanger manifol which they probably supplied.

I'd be surprised if they marinised it, theymake heat exchangers, which other marinising companies use.

These guys will have made the heat exchanger ect , there on the bulk of converted van/truck type engines that have been marinised ( i find anyway)

(no i havent filled in my profile yet , lurked here ages only just got round to reging , btw just bought a wooden boat am i still allowed to read MBM / MBY ? )
