I understand it's a new worm attack, probably coordinated by the Russians. It seems a vulnerability in the atmosphere.climate.greece.current_weather[temperature] module in the God operating system we use wasn't patched properly. The attack is exploiting this vulnerability. I am assured that the sysadmins involved are patching this vulnerability as we speak, but it's a tricky bit of code apparently and not well documented, so it's unlikely to be fixed before tomorrow at the earliest. The sysadmins are confident that the temperature will return to the seasonal norm after the weekend as the patched code starts to recover.
