Not me, but there were about a dozen sailing boats out from Port Camargue.
Pretty good as there was almost no wind !
I was down there checking my boat on Xmas day.
I think a Star is going a bit far, but Bl***y lucky is what I think, my boat is high and dry being treated for Osmosis.
Any way wether you motored or sailed have a great season all of you I hope to be back on the water by May.
However back in 1993 Isailed from Lymington yachthaven to Newtown creek cooked turkey on the way, it took loads longer than we had expected and turkey was a dry as old boots, and having anchored in the creek I then started to worry about grounding, so we left before pudding. I was a bit green in those days had my first boat only two months a Westerly Corsair since then we have done 30,000 nm and its been a very steep curve, but I will remember that xmas day for ever.Good sailing to all.
ike
Sailed across to Cowes, had a pint in the Anchor (Union closed), sailed back and had turkey for supper. Great day, mild, good wind, good company and only a slight sprinkling of rain.
Sailed Boxing Day - Ostend - Ramsgate (not much fun - 8 Bft - SWMBO & kids seasick, 8 hrs helming - muscles I didn't know I had ached). Didn't want to sail, but presure of time played a part - will be away on deployment in 2 weeks - simply had to get Yanita home. Forecast for the next week equally crap.
Sailed today - Ramsgate - Gillingham (much better 4- Bft - gusts 7 - double reefed, 1/2 genua, and speed didn't drop below 7.8 kts - tide wth me).
<hr width=100% size=1>Fair winds.
If not... reef early!
